Given what this does, and what other solutions cost, (do you even know?!) you're bitching?? REALLY?

P.S.  50 bucks is alot for free community driven software. Not that its not worth it, but still.

You know what they say: Take it or leave it

Was I bitching?  I really didn't think I was.  The entire point of the license was to not compete with Pluto's hardware solution.  Last I checked there were no hardware solutions that Pluto was offering (I know this for a fact, because I actually checked) which eliminates the main point of the license.  So yes I have a valid reason to snicker at the 50 dollar license even though, in the same sentence I stated clearly that it was probably worth it.  I am not bitching, just offering the perspective that the point is dated, and that paying for open source software isnt common.  So calm down.

tschak909

Actually, you're about to get smacked around by totallymaxed.

There _are_ two Pluto licensees that have been selling complete systems and support. Dianemo in the UK, and Centersonic in Europe, and HAVE been doing so, since 2005.

hmm... ok so your point is that other people are paying license to pluto... and... does pluto sell hardware?  Nope. Pluto initially placed the license so that they were not competing with themselves, with software they wrote on hardware solutions they were selling.  Of course they based their software on open source software before them, and combined other open source material to make theirs work... thus making most of their product... open sourced. How come you feel you need to get all rediculously emotional about the mere observation that Pluto IS NOT SELLING HARDWARE? Seriously, I was just musing.  Again I say relax... sorry to offend your sense of propriety, i did not know that offering an opinion was going to get me "Smacked around".  Which is retarded, cause this is the internet.

Guys, this is off topic, stop posting on this point or I lock the thread. The subject is tk's linuxmce store, and directly related subjects. The licence is the licence, end of story.

Here's a bit of advice:

Do something to get your domain name from triggering Firefox's security. Apparently Firefox believes linuxmcecompatible.com to be an attack site and has red flagged it. If you are still planning on using that as your domain, I would quickly remedy that and park the domain safely otherwise you will be blacklisted by many filters and most likely won't be able to get off of them all.

Let's get back to the store front, when is it going to be available, can you at least put a current status report on a simple index.html on your domain, not sure what it's showing now?

I'm interested in what you will have to offer. Also where can I find info on the tablet you are selling?

I would be interested to see different kind of compatible remotes and or gyro's and tablets and/or fully capable touch screen remotes.

My apologies, many things have the delayed the opening of the linuxmcestore.

Everything from the name Linuxmce store to properly licensing of pre-installed systems and even the domain name itself.

It's amazing what issues arise when when taking an open source project to the point where you want to sell pre-installed systems.

In any event, with luck I should have something up in 30-60 days.

I am also working with the community trying work out how give a portion of the proceeds back into development.

For the time being proceeds from the web-pads are going to help one of the major developers on the team, as well into new hardware to be supported by LinuxMce.

I'd suggest to tag all devices additionally to categories. For example, Z-Wave or X10 etc. It'd help to find full range Z-Wave devices, for example. Also, devices produced for specific region should be mark somehow. For example, Z-Wave switch can be produced for US or Europe electricity standard. But main idea and implementation are good :)

Congrats Tim on getting it this far!!

Is the site to be US-centric or cover the erst of the world too?
I tried clicking the Shipping info and it only brought me to my empty basket - no details on shipping.

Noticed a glitch on the logo display, behaves correctly on firefox, but isn't visible on chrome - obscured by a stray tile, see attached screen-caps
