linuxMCE won't boot from secondary slave HDD
« on: January 03, 2008, 05:31:10 pm »
I'd like to try out LinuxMCE on my secondary HDD--a 200Gig Seagate IDE drive.  When I install, I pick drive 2, /dev/hdb to install to.  The install goes ok, but then when it reboots to continue, it reboots to Windows.  I've changed the boot order in my BIOS but it still defaults to windows.  Do I need to reformat the second drive to set the boot flag, or does the linuxMCE install do this automagically?  Its been years since I've installed a linux distro.  Most of my experience is from the early days of fdisk back in the late 90s.

Thanks in advance,

--Brad

Found my own problem--the BIOS was not doing what I thought it was.  It now boots just fine.  If I could only get it to use OpenGL properly...  Looks like others have had this problem.
