I've just about completed the PLM interface..
I just put a 'Wrapper' around the PLM bytes to make them look like an EZBridge command..  This way, when I make changes/additions, I can just cut/paste and both modules are updated.

I'm looking for someone with a PLM and/or EZBridge...
Beta testing on my own is good, but not a proper test..

If you have one of the above interfaces, and are willing to integrate them into LMCE, please let me know by responding to this thread.

I just got off the phone with PeteK...  went over some logistics...
It's too early to say, but good things might be around the corner...

I finished the PLM code, it compiles, but I haven't given it a thorough testing yet..

So far, it's executed 1 command successfully.

I'll probably buy the plm and the ezbridge kit along with a few switches and whatnot for testing in the next week

The EZBridge is overkill for the average house, but it's GREAT for a remote location...
monitor and control lights in your summer AND winter houses with 1 core..

Hey Dan~

I'm a bit new to the LMCE arena, but have been screwing around with Insteon since before it was released (I was lucky enough to be a beta tester of it back when it still should have been alpha).  I've been trying to convince my dad to go with LMCE for his HTPC/Automation systems at his house and Insteon support was the one last hurdle to get his acquiescence, so I'm pretty psyched about your implementation.  In total he has a couple hundred devices (no joke, the man's got a problem), a handful of PLMs, even some way pre-release touchscreen timer things that I've been less than impressed with.  I've been running 0704 at my place and 0710 should be down downloading in an hour or so, at which time I'll put that on an HTPC for his trial.  I'd love to test out the interface (should be able to give it a pretty thorough workout), and I have a few extra PLMs sitting around, so let me know what you want me to do (if anything)!  The only constraint I have is that I normally live down in Atlanta and only have off work/grad school until early Jan (though I could swipe an extra PLM and some LampLincs or something if I needed).

Sweet!  I'm looking for others to help test this interface..
That will help a lot!

here's what you need to do:

1.  GET you hands on some insteon stuff (PLM and whatever else you can scrounge)
2.  When you get that stuff, come back here, PM me, and I'll email you the code..

Who, knows, by the time you get some devices, it MAY already be implemented into 710...

PeteK is testing it now too..

I just finished some pretty complicated 'spidering' routines.. now, all I have to do is report them to linuxmce...

I'll be looking forward to a PM from you..

I've tried posting the code, but it's getting so big, I have to divide it up among multiple messages....

Does your dad have an EZBridge?? if so, you can implement HIS house into YOUR linuxmce, and really f*ck his mind up....

Nope, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have one (yet), but I've accomplished the same thing with a windows box running remote desktop with a plm.  It's even better when they go out of town and get someone to watch their house.  There are webcams set up covering some of the main rooms, so I can watch the poor souls' reactions when I start turning things (lights, russound zones, alarms, etc.) on and off from 350 miles away. ;-)
If they can ever get FTT* in their area, I was going to see if I could link a MD to a Core over a VPN so I can access his movie collection from home.  If that worked, then it would be even easier to f*ck with his (and others') minds, and I could do pretty much whatever I needed to with the Insteon interface.
Anyway, if you really want me to test an EZBridge also, I can probably convince him that he "needs" one (he gets dealer pricing anyway, so it's not that overpriced) - otherwise I can probably just figure out a way to simulate the same thing through an SSH pipe between the linux boxes in meantime.  Just lemme know what you want me to do.  Oh, and the download slowed down, so it'll be about 4 hours to completion now....(I'm getting anxious to try the new version)

Hehe, No problem..

I've implemented BOTH the PLM and the EZBridge using the same commandset.. so, theoretically, when I update one, I just copy/paste the code to the other...

Don't go out of your way convincing people they 'need' a new toy...  lol

Get yourself a PLM and some devices, & PM me.

Alrighty, I'll scrounge the stuff up in the am and PM you after I get the 0710 box up and running with an extra PLM attached.  Shouldn't be any later than late afternoon (unless the old man breaks out the whip and makes me fix the HAI first...why do I come back here on my vacation time? ;-).  Talk to you then - for now, I'm going to try to get some sleep...
