Queries post installation

I have some queries post MCE installation.
1. Does the MCE installation removes the Kubuntu applications that is used for upgrading or installing various apps?
2. What other things are updated or removed?
3. How to upgrade base Kubuntu version later on when new one is released?
4. anything else that one should remember?

I'm not sure if this will help, but you still have access to Kubuntu from the LMCE GUI. 

From there, you also have a Konsole shell you can run and can apt-get components off the repositories. 

I have done this on my LMCE Hybrid.  As to updates/upgrade of Kubuntu, I would guess it would be this way?  I haven't had a need to do that yet.

Upgrading Kubuntu is likely to break LMCE, hence certain apps have been removed.
