Importing media

Say I have two hard drives in a machine.  I install LinuxMCE on one of them.  On the other, I have a whole bunch of previously-collected media, distributed across a number of directories.

How should I import this media?  I can manually create a soft link from the existing media location to one of LinuxMCE's media dirs.  And then ask it to re-sync, via the admin interface.

But is there a better (more elegant) way?  What happens when I add more media to that hard drive?

Thanks,

Stuart

When you set up the system there where 2 options (use linux structure and make all public.) If you had make all public it would scan the hole disk.  Every time you added a new file all you need to do is a new sync.

It will get listed automatically, but it is not instant. It can take hours depending on the amount of stored data, unless you ask it re-sync.
(LMCE does not continuously check the filestructure, but on intervalls, to avoid clogging up the network and resources)
