Newbie - Basic Core PC
« on: September 20, 2007, 08:56:17 pm »
I just discovered LinuxMCE and very eager to try it out.  I want to make a very basic set up for now with 1 Core and 1 Media Director.  I already have an old PC that I'll use as the Director.  As for the Core, I don't want to invest in an expensive set-up for now so what minimum requirements have you found to be successful?

I'm looking to start out using it for TV, video, and music.

I use PIV 1.7GHz 768MB RAM as a test bench core and it works for me.
I can't put too many MDs on simultaneously though, but as a test it's great.
Thinking of making that PC an MD when I get a more powerful one for the CORE

Why not make it "official" and add it to the wiki?

Lack of time at the moment.
I "scurry trough" these pages at work, work... the 07:30 to 22:00 thing right now.
Hopefully this weekend though...
