« on: September 11, 2007, 05:57:23 am »
After selecting what hard drive that I want to install linuxmce, It displays messages saying... read checkpoints

After it gets to Read Checkpoint 300000, it gives an error saying unexpected EOF or something along those lines, and gives an input/output error..

Any idea whats causing this?

Im using the Abit AN-M2HD motherboard.. and im installing linuxmce on a 500 gb hard drive.

Ill try and get teh exact error and type it up here

Did you check the MD5Sums on the ISO before burning the DVD?

well i solved the problem just now, turns out that i was running the Hard drive off of an PCI card for extra IDE slots... when i connected the hard drive directly into the motherboard.. that problem went away.

how do we check the md5sums, i have the same issue.

My HD is on secondary slave.

I'll try tomorrow on the primary master to see if it's different.

I'll post results

I usually just run:
Code: [Select]
md5sum <filename>
But if you're on some sort of cripple OS then I guess you'd need to download a "md5sum.exe" from somewhere first.
