I ran an update yesterday and since then I my username/password gets rejected when I try to access my fileshare on the server. I already changed my password in case it got lost in the update, but no luck.

Hi maverick0815,

I tried to check it out for you but ran into this...

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=14084.0

What snapshot of 14.04 did you install as your base?

Cheers.

maverick0815

I'm on 12.04 so far. When  I found out, that besides the shares, mythtv also did not work too,I contacted the devs via irc.fortunately tschak was able to help me out. I think there is going to be an update.

pigdog

Hi,

So you were on the 30773 update (12.04) and not 30777 (14.04)?

If so, I will wait to install the 30773 snapshot on my other 12.04 HDD until the update comes out.

Thanks for the info.

Cheers.

I think something is still not right....I just started up my windows machine and tried to access the shares again....no access

after restarting smbd and nmbd its working again

Hi,

I will install the 30773 update (12.04) and see what happens when I try to access my NAS.

Cheers

O.K.

I built a Core/Hybrid with analog audio.

Did update/upgrade/dist-upgrade.

During the AVWizard setup at the audio volume adjustment step I had a message that said

                                                     *** NO AUDIO ***
Bonus CD with sample audio tracks was not installed.

I adjusted my volume to 90% even though there was no audio (music) playing.

Sarah came up with audio but audio volume is very low.  (I later checked KDE desktop and there is a dummy device set @ 100%)

Anyway, my NAS volumes were detected etc.  I played a movie, volume very low, everything seems O.K. so far.

Later I will build a MD using HDMI video and audio.

Cheers.

Hi,

I built a MD with HDMI audio/video and received the same Bonus CD - no audio message, set the audio to 90% and had no issues with the volume levels over HDMI.

Why there seems to be an analog issue - I do not understand.

Is there anything else you would like to try?

Cheers.

Hi,

Weird.  Today I booted Core/Hybrid system up to look at the volume issue and received the following...

Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS dcerouter tty1

dcerouter login:

System did not boot into LMCE only terminal.

I tried to log in as root - no go.

I logged in as username/password.

I did an apt-get update/upgrade/dist-upgrade.

Rebooted and system booted into LMCE.

I then went into alsamixer and adjusted Master/Front/Surround/Center/LFE/Side to 100%.

Strange, I'm analog stereo.

Anyway, that sorted out that issue.  I now have more volume control on the Core/Hybrid.

Cheers.

hmm, I saw the no bonus cd message myself.  I must have inadvertently dropped a pkg with that media...  I'll check the pkg depends database to see if anything is amiss there.
