12.04: invoke-rc.d broken on MDs?
« on: April 26, 2015, 06:44:53 pm »
Hello there,

in 12.04 there are two different versions of invoke-rc.d  in /usr/sbin/

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root    70 Apr 19 13:47 /usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 11308 Jul 26  2012 /usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d.orig

But those files are only on the diskless MDs. On the core there is only one invoke-rc.d in /usr/sbin/.

The ones on the MD are not working. So the (e.g.) the script "StartVDRClient.sh" does not work properly. The two ones one the MDs do not even return an error code (!).

Can someone confirm this is a bug?

BR

A cannot confirm it at the moment specifically but can you specify when the last time you apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade 'd your core and when the last time you ran Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh was.  As well can you specify when the last time you dist-upgrade 'd your MD in question?  :)  Thanks.  There have been a *lot* of changes recently and it's easier to help if some of these questions can be answered.
