move from working 810 to 1004

I have a working 810 system. Can I safely move to the 1004 version without having to reconfigure all devices, orbiters, phones, etc ... ? Can I somehow save my settings and re-load them after installing 1004 ?
I guess I am not the only one with this question. I quickly scanned the forum but couldn't find any existing topic on that.

there is a backup function in webadmin, but I'm afraid that it may not work at the moment. you could at least try it.
Also it's always a good idea to clone your existing install with clonezilla in case that things will not run properly in 10.04.
