Black screen during install
« on: October 15, 2012, 08:55:11 am »
Using 8.1
I get a blacks screen when trying to install.
I can boot off the DVD
-select "english"
-select "Linux MCE"
Then there's a few pages of text, the last line is
* starting Ubiquity

Then a black screen.

If i press the off button the Kubuntu loading screen appears and the DVD is ejected.
I started with an ATI card, but now I'm using am 8600GT because the Wiki recommended Nvidia cards, no change.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I thought I'd try 8.1 first as it was recommended. for new users.

I'm a little confused on which to try though.
On wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mirrors
The recommended download is LMCE-1004-20120809105626326.iso
But that's not the latest snapshot.

I'm currently downloading the latest snapshot LMCE-1004-20121010180226551.iso but it's a lot smaller than the other ones.
