Dianemo IOS oribitor - Linuxmce
« on: October 12, 2012, 05:19:40 pm »
Hi, I downloaded the app on my ipod and have successfully connected it to Linuxmce 810. However what is the proper skin to get the dianemo look since it appears as just the standard linuxmce skin. I am assuming I don't have the right skin loaded or something wrong because when I try to touch the buttons the screen simply just refreshes on the ipod.
Thanks.

The skins are not shipped with the orbiter. The skins are shipped with the base system. If your base system is LinuxMCE, you get the LinuxMCE skins. If you want the Dianemo skins, you have to buy the Dianemo software or hardware.

That makes sense but why when I touch the buttons on the ipod does it not doing anything? I guess my main problem is I can't do anything on the ipod except see/view the standard linuxmce interface which is what I'm used to on a pc web orbitor or a web browser... The app is nice for full screen viewing  on the ipod and would like to control things like I do on the computer.... I turned on the load indicator and when I touch the screen no matter where/what button it just seems to refresh like F5 when refreshing a web page.

Thanks.

The Dianemo App should reflect whatever UI skin you have selected for that specific Orbiter in Web Admin... after doing the configuration steps you need to do a full Regen. If it doesn't do anything or show the expected UI then you have some configuration options set incorrectly.

I still don't get what settings would be wrong as long as the app loads the orbitor and it looks correct. If i go to the orbitor via a web browser on the ipod i can touch the buttons and navigate. I am not able to navigate at all on the app. It's as if the app is just loading an "image only with no navigation"...not sure how else to describe it. I know the app is communicating as it shows my name in the bottom right and all my different scenarios...i just cannot navigate and touching those buttons doesn't change screens. I have a cisco ip touch phone with the web orbitor as well and that works fine... i can touch and navigate there.

Thanks.

I just found another app RoamingOrbitor and it does the same thing. It loads my UI and I am still not able to navigate around. :(

We have large numbers of customers using our App and I am sure there are many users using RoamingOrb too;

Without seeing your system I cant say for sure what is wrong... but the fact that RoaminOrb and the Dianemo iOS App both behave similarly I can say pretty much definitively that the issue is in your config of the Core.

All the best

I wasn't able to get this working yet but I am going to try LinuxMCE 10 as soon as I can get it installed. If it works I'm just going to use that and move everything over to 10. I am sure it's going to be worth the move anyway ;)

Wow... You guys are going to think I'm stupid or something...All along I was selecting iphone(480x320)and I should be selecting iphone4(960x640) since I have the ipod4... Cant believe I spent so much time on something so simple. Works great now.

Thanks again for all your time in helping me with this.

It's very easy to not see something that is staring right in the face. We've all been there... and done that!

Thanks for posting the above.
