Hey,

I think I messed up my asterisk module in linuxmce (see this topic).
And probably the best (fasted) way is to reinstall the whole server...

I was now wondering if I could take a backup of my 840 server, install the 1004 server and restore the backup over there.
Or better not?

My core is based on 810 pre alpha, and has been apt-get upgraded to the latest 1004 - believe me, it is not something for the faint of heart. I do not suggest it for anyone else. I've never tried a restore of the pluto db. If you do have a spare disk, why not trying it out, and see what happens.

This was my idea. My first installations isn't completely messed up, so i would like to keep it safe for a while... ;)

I've just installed a fresh version of the 1004, and tried a restore of the 810.
But it doesn't seem to do much. I select the zip, choose restore, and after a few seconds, i've got 2 menu's on the left. Nothing more.
I don't see any rooms created or so. So i suppose that backup isn't restore like it should be.
It would be a very fast restore as well, the zip is about 75MB big. So a few seconds for the copy/restore/...

Any suggestions?
I'll start the restore once more, and check back in a while (30minutes?)...
Or...

Look at /usr/pluto/bin/PlutoRestorePoint.sh to see how the restore is trying to work.
