Hey Guys,

I downloaded the latest snapshot (21st June) and set about installing it, seems to go quite smoothly until I get the the 2nd part of the wizard where the lady starts saying "If you can see and hear me use your keyboard or remote to go to next"

then my keyboard and mouse stop working, I have tried other keyboards and other navigating devices (Windows MCE remote, Logitech diNovo Mini Keyboard) that all work fine until this point in the install.

I really dont understand..... any ideas? :(

Hopefully (if I am not forced against my will to do work in the garden) I will be able to tell you this evening whether I have experienced this problem also.

Capri82, has it just locked up? Can you Ctrl + Alt + F1 or whatever into a shell thing?

Cheers,
Matt.

I cannot install this snapshot due to dependancy problem.

Gash.

Is that in VBox, bongowongo? Should I still attempt an installation?

Yes in vbox.
But dependancy problem is propably not vbox related
I will attempt it one more time.

Ok I can installed it.

in 2nd AVWizard
Keyboard works, but mouse does not.

Well I guess you don't need any further confirmation, but here it is anyway.

Keyboard works for like 5 seconds if I unplug it and plug it back in again, but it's quite difficult to get through the setup process like that! :)

Ok well let's hope in new snapshot everything is ok.

Purps why do you want to install a new snapshot of 0810?

purps

As opposed to 1004 you mean?

I have heard VERY conflicting opinions on this, so thought I would stick with what I know. Thought 0810 would be more stable?

0810 is more stable
But I thought you already had a working stable system.

That is why I am asking, why the new install.

purps

Never got to the bottom of this http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=11719.0

Never really caused me any problems, except my N800 was constantly reloading when I did anything TV (myth) related, and I'm nearly certain it was all related.
