Hi,

I currently have my audio tracks saved to /home/public/data/audio. I have 2 users who both can access the public audio tracks.  Where do I need to save audio tracks so that they can be viewed only by 1 user?

In your private area. That way you have to identify before being able to look at them.
If I helped you, feel free to buy me a coffee: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=2VKASZLTJH7ES

hey posde Thanks for the swift reply.

Do you have a path to point me in the right direction please.

I have tried saving audio file to /home/my user name/Music but nothing shows up on my orbitor screen.

I THINK it's /home/user_X.

/home/yourusername isn't really anything as far as LMCE is concerned. It's just the credentials you used to set up Kubuntu before install LMCE on top of it. Again, I THINK! :)

Cheers,
Matt.

When you rip a CD or a DVD you are asked where to store the files. Choose privat, and the media will get ripped into your private area.

Also, a share exists for each user which can be access through Samba from other computers.

THanks for the replys fellas,

posde, I have my chosen audio files already ripped from CD into MP3 format. Is there a specific location I should look to save these audio files for each user?

Matt,

I deleted all my audio files from my public folder. I then copied 2 files. one file to /user_1/data/audio and the other file to /user_2/data/audio. I reloaded the router but still no sign of audio tracks appearing on the orbiter screen for each user.

Is there a possibility my architecture is not set up correctly? When setting up LMCE and asked if I wanted to use LMCE architecture, I'm not to sure if I choose the LMCE architecture option.

1. Make sure you have the appropriate user selected. In the orbiter, select "audio", then "options", then select the user and type in the PIN.
2. If you still don't see anything, just wait a while, things do sometimes take a while to appear.

Cheers,
Matt.

Thanks for the direction Matt.
Managed to get it working with a bit of playing about.

On my system, the audio track graphic does not appear after I enter password. It seems to pop up when I hit play all tracks...

Are you having any problems with graphics when using user storage?

Cheers

I don't use user storage at the moment, but I do intend to in the future. Will test when I get my system back up and running.

hey Mat.

I have tried accessing each users audio library using my orbiter and no graphic problem. Seems to be a problem just with onscreen orbitor for my core.
