Does anybody have the same problem? I think that it happened with the last update but I am not sure because I just moved and I was busy with the move.
The problem is that the router reloads roughly 30 seconds after playback of DVD isos and dvds. Avi, mp4, etc. plays fine. Part of the problem could be that the streaming of the DVD menu does not work at all (seeing the menu from a different orbiter like windows orbiter etc.).
I searched the forum but it seems that I am the only one that has that issue.
Any suggestions where the problem is?
Here is part of the DCE Router log (followed it)

the media plugin was recently changed to fix a long standing problem, and all the relevant plugins were rebuilt.

please try an update/upgrade.

Thanks Thom,
I did update upgrade & no new updates were found. I also updated sqlcvs. However, I still have the problem. I also tried different apt/sources.list configurations (based on forum & wiki) but there are no new updates.
Maybe I try to rebuild the one media director and/or unpack the other media director (I just hope that the updates on the Router installed properly). I was just curious if anybody else encountered the same problem.
Thank you again for your reply, and thank you for all the work you (and the other smart people) put into LinuxMCE.

I think that I have to do that. I have no time to figure out what the exact problem is. Obviously, I am the only one with the problem, and this means that one of the updates did not install properly. Thanks for your help.

I had that exact same issue on my system after recently updating my core and all media directors.  I was not looking forward to rebuilding.

What fixed it for me was logging into the web admin, Wizard / Device / Media Directors and rebuilding image on each media director in order and rebooting everything.  After the reboot, I was good to go.

YMMV.

I also have this problem. I was just reverting back to old images... which has been fine because I have been working on an upgrade utility... but will try the MD rebuilding.
I never quit... I just ping out.

I am also having this problem.  It started a couple of weeks ago after I did an apt-get upgrade and rebuilt the media director images.  I ran it again tonight and have the latest versions, rebuilt the media directors, but am still having a router reload after 30 seconds or so (less in most cases) of video playback.  I've got 5 media directors, and all of them exhibit the same problem running on different hardware.  How can I revert back to a stable/working version?

Thanks,

is nobody #@($#@$ listening to me?

I said, the media plugins underwent major changes, and they all had to be rebuilt. We rebuilt all the media plugins, so this should not be happening anymore. If need be, posde can rebuild all the media plugins.

I keep upgrading, and reverting back because I continue to have this problem.

Everyone is listening, however the problem persists. Something is wrong. I thought initially that rebuilding the MDs, including hybrid, would solve the issue, however it does not.

I can tell you that when DVD menus hit the orbiter, the orbiters lock up, and eventually crash. The MD continues to play for about 30 seconds, but control is eratic, and even if you manage playback, it crashes and reloads. You can circumvent this by playing chapters from orbiter on left hand side. At least on series, you must head off ending by moving to the next chapter before previous chapter end.

The left side menu does not populate unless you hit menu a few times through initial play, and appears to be dependent on the type of DVD.
I never quit... I just ping out.

Again, this is caused by the media plugins being out of sync with the changes in the media plugin base class, these plugins need to be rebuilt.

Thom,

is there a reason why you did not open a trac ticket and/or told me about it, instead of jumping on l3mce?

All *plugin_*deb's have been update in the deb.linuxmce.org repo.

That fixed me too.  Thanks all for the quick responses.  I am very impressed with LinuxMCE and the folks that support it.
