Power Control for Phoenix USB Microphone

I have two MDs with the Phoenix USB Solo microphones. The work fantastically...just as well as any conference phone, and I use the phone on MD feature often while watching TV.

The one thing I would change about the setup is the brightness of the blue LED on the microphone. Its blinding; especially in the dark. Is it possible to control power to the USB port, turning the microphone on only when SimplePhone is handling a call?  Then, the blue LED would become a feature...an additional alert when calls come in.

I've experimented with this unsuccessfully using this document:

http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/usb/power-management.txt

All of the power control files are there but I can't get any of my USB ports to respond.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

An interesting thought, but I do not know... Would need to do some experimenting, and my plate is currently very full...

you could open it up and unsolder it and but in a resistor or something to that effect.
or fill the hole that it sits in with hot glue to diffuse the light

You could also apply an old fix for the check engine light in your car. Put a piece of black tape over the light...
