Dell PowerEdge 850; fresh install
« on: December 19, 2010, 11:55:08 am »
Hey,

I'm trying to install the latest version of LinuxMCE (8.10-23535-i386) on a dell server.
First installation goes fine, but once i've got the desktop, i'm lost.

I can't find anywhere what tot do. Just a script on the desktop where i can run 'linuxMCE'.
A script starts to run, and after a while, i got an error 'Error - KdeSudo,   Command not found!'.
Only thing i can do is click 'OK'. The script goes on, but 'holds/freeze'.
I've got also the idea that some things aren't found to install (internet issue?). But the scripts runs on, so i think it's not a big issue?

Any idea what i can/must do now?

ps is it normal that in the boot menu of the cd, the options 'install kubuntu' and 'install linuxmce' gives the same result?  ???

poeweee, 5 hours search...

The installation way/procedure could use some fine tuning or up to date manuals...
I've found a lot of different things/ways/explanations of things on the net.

Apparantly when you use a terminalwindow, and run the script as root, it goes a lot better.
After this, when you reboot, you'll get the av-wizard...

up to the next step...
