Hi Tyger,

Welcome to LinuxMCE,

Is it the orbiter on the Core/Hybrid or is it on a MD?
You using UI1 or UI2 orbiter?

I have no idea.
When you do the audio and video config after install it starts the core and installs some stuff and it generates the orbitter after that its blank.
I dont know what else to tell you.

Some things that could help diagnose your problem:

What is your installation source?  Net install, DVD Beta2 install, Snapshot install?
What video card are you using?  Nvidia, ATI, Intel, VIA?
What model of video card?
How are you connecting to your display?  Composite, SVIDEO, VGA, DVI, HDMI?
How long have you waited after the AVWizard?  (It could take more than 20 mins to build the orbiter before showing the Setup wizard.)

I used the DVD Beta2 install.
The pc only has a on board ati express, kubuntu had a driver for it that i used.
I used a default vga output with a 1024*768 resolution.
after the AVWizard it says starting core services and installs stuff and then i get the message generating orbitter, its bussy for a wile and after that i get the blank screen.
maybe i shoult try another version?

update: it says orbitter 21, and after that i saw something about setting up user interface and after that nothing.

ATI cards arent really supported.

When booting your system press the "SHIFT" key repeatingly. This will bring up the initail AV-Wizard. After choosing you video output and resolution it will prompt you for UI, choose the first "Static overlay no images".

ATI cards really are not supported, you would do well to grab an inexpensive NVidia 8xxx or 9xxx series card and disable the onboard ATI.  You could also look here: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Display_Drivers but I'm not sure you'll have luck with the ATI card.

Use a recent snapshot http://linuxmce.iptp.org/snapshots/ the beta2 DVD is quite old and outdated at the moment.

I just installed the snapshot from the 19th and it works perfectly, no problems of any kind thanks for the tip.
Also i had no problem using the ATI chip, Kubuntu provided this driver.
