DroboPro to use for external network storage?

Hi,
First off just want to say thanks for everyones input on this forum. It has helped a great deal. I'm in the process of figuring out what equipment I need and what I have that I can use.
I have a DroboPro that I'm currently using to store home videos, music, pictures etc. I'm wondering if I can use this for my media storage that would be connected to the (HP Blackbird 002) core?

...However, the iSCSI implementation currently only supports connection to a single server[6] and unlike the DroboShare, the Ethernet interface cannot be used for other networking protocols such as NFS, FTP, or SMB

Do you know if yours supports SMB or NFS? It may not work as plug and play otherwise. Here is a list of other NAS like devices that have been confirmed working as a guide:

Not sure if anyone else out there knows about getting the DroboPro working - however based on the fact that

With the release of the 1.5 firmware, Data Robotics began encrypting the log files produced by the Drobo, claiming the log contains proprietary information on the workings of the device.

I am assuming they don't have an open standard to work with?

I would like to see somebody work on adding an iSCSI device template, and associated software and automatic configuration for LinuxMCE.

It would be roughly two weeks of solid work from a developer familiar with iSCSI administration and software development.
