MD doesn't boot in 0810
« on: January 20, 2010, 01:02:49 am »
So I'm running newest build 0810 on my core. When I try to boot my media director (same NIC as my core btw) the MD connects, says it's given IP address and MAC address and goes through a couple things until it stops on "configuration file not found" I've tried manually adding a MD on the core, giving it the NICs MAC address and it connects with the same ip address (192.168.80.130) but it always hangs. I've tried different ethernet cables and media directors but it always does the same thing! What should I do?

Hi
Have you installed it from DVD?
If so have you run this on you core?
/usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh

Not sure what error I get because for some reason my TV does not display anything till the settings page comes up.

When I boot a new media director it automatically loads the amd64 version.

Go into web admin, media directors, find the new media director.

Goto advanced, change where it says "Architecture" to i386 and save.
Now click Rebuild Image on the same page. Once that has finished boot the media director and should work.

Regards

So I think I found the problem. (Still no fix though...) I Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh and it was going nicely until it hanged because the mythtv package had unfulfilled dependencies...

I can't run mythtv through the hybrid so I tried to configure mythtv but the setup isn't in the computing tab.
So I went into the setup wizard and tried to select it. The box kept on saying installing mythtv and wouldnt go away.
So I went into terminal and uninstalled mythtv and pluto-mythtv and did an autoremove to be sure, when i tried to reinstall it, it gave me the same error (this package needs mythtv-frontend and mythtv-backend, but it won't be installed)
I spent about an hour trying different apt-get combinations for mythtv before deciding to reinstall the core. That went nicely enough until I reboot and I have the exact same problem on the new system.
Anything?
Thanks for any help!
