Balls, I just ordered a T-500! :-(

Which firmware version are you using? I saw this one reported to work well:

Well 0810 might change the stability of this card...

We've tested every firmware release I'm pretty sure... we currently test with dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw but this version has 'issues' too :-(

Yes BSKYB's Sky+ & SkyHD boxes can do this now here in the UK. They buffer a small range of shows to a hidden area on their hard drives...on the basis that if you liked Show 'X' then you might also like Show 'Y' etc.

Really - so how do you access this function??

Its called Sky Anytime and 50% of your HD boxes hard drive is dedicated to this type of content/storage. You can access Anytime content from the Sky Guide. If you live in a Flat where only a single LNB feed is available then you may find that Anytime has been disabled or has been unable to use the single tuner to download any content.

Hi Chris,

We have some v4l debs that have proved to deliver reliable performance from the T500 at last (they are still a little experimental in that they use DKMS to dynamically build the modules for the Kernel you are running...so that we cab use them on 710/810/904 kernels without re-compiling etc everytime the Kernel changes).

If you'd like to give them a try them pm me or email me and i will send them to you.

All the best

Let's try to get this folded in as a replacement deb.

Guys, please. LET'S NOT KEEP STUFF LIKE THIS TO OURSELVES.

They have been in general circulation for about 8 weeks or more Thom...Niz23 and others have been using them. We have built them so that we can support multiple Kernels with a single deb which helps us to span both our Dianemo customer systems which are based on the LinuxMCE-0710 Kernel, 0810-alpha Kernels and 0904 Kernels. I believe Radu has discussed putting these into the svn...but they will of course completely replace the 'standard' kubuntu v4l debs...

dkms is used by the nVidia installer and we also have an alsa deb that uses dkms. However there are some 'gotchas' and alsa shows these clearly as on lower end processors recompiling alsa on the target machine is a grueling and slow process.
