DVDCSS
« on: December 05, 2008, 03:20:02 am »
I just reinstalled linuxmce. Under Add software I do not see any options to add additional software or the DVDCSS. It's blank. I just put in a old dvd drive in the MD. Please help.

Disregard it. I just had to wait for couple of minutes for it to load up.

I had the same problem it appears that something is broken some where. If you only need to add DVDCSS try from the web admin Advanced -> Software -> Add software select the MD or Core and try to update from there I have to do it a couple of times before it worked.
Maybe the templates for AV devices are broken too. Could you confirm that?
good Luck

Hi,

By installing the libdvdcss2 package you can play encrypted DVDs
sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2

or do this
/usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh (this installs libdvdcss2)  [may need to install libdvdread3]

For other stuff like mp3's, etc do
sudo apt-get install w32codecs
