Orbiter menus missing

I am running a hybrid core - 8.10. I am finding quite often that after I take the Orbiter menu option to the KDE desktop, I can't get get back the the Orbiter menus. The OrbiterGL / PhotogalleryVie and pluto-xone-playback menu items  appear in the task bar. When clicking the OrbiterGL item, the current window loses focus but the menus do not appear? I have tried the menu button on the Gyration controller but that has no effect either.

There is a plasmoid being added to the build today which will add a button on the desktop to re-activate the Orbiter.
