Hi,

I have got the problem that Ongoing VDR recordings are not viewable the replay keeps stopping at the point it were as I started replay.
Meaning if the core is recording a show and it is at 02:10 minutes then I can start replay on the MD and it then stops at 02:10.
The Core then has recorded up til 04:20 I can start replay on the MD and it stops at 04:20.

Interesting enough the index.vdr is read and in the OSD-replay-statusline (on the MD) the end-time of the recording is growing.

Anyone having the same problem ? Any solution for that ?

Greetings
Viking

I guess your referring to playing a recording that is currently underway and growing in length from inside the Orbiters media library...

Currently the Orbiter does not support 'chase play' of ongoing recordings - as you have seen it can only access the recording upto the point it was at when the Orbiter first started to play back the recording.

If you want 'chase play' then use the internal vdr player by accessing the "Recordings' menu from the internal vdr OSD main menu...select the recording you want to watch and hit 'OK' to play it...this recording can continue to grow in size as you watch it (hit the 'OK' button while watching the recording to see the playback OSD...notice the time code on the right is growing).

All the best

Thanks for the reply, should have described that better :)

I am trying to replay an ongoing recording as you say. And I am trying that using the recordings menu directly in VDR :) The timecode is growing, but replay stopps at the point where the recording is when I start replay using the recordings menu of VDR ...

So something must not be right - I just have no idea what it is ...

Hmmm...cant say I've ever seen that behaviour!

Have you tried skipping forward past the point where the recording was when you started playing? Use the '3' button on the remote to jump forward and past the point where it is stopping playback.

If I do that it also stopps replaying ...

Any idea ?

I did not find anything in the syslog and Spawn_VDR* - is there any other place I can  look ?

I have tried to reproduce your problem but simply cant I'm afraid. Could you make a short recording...2 mins should be enough (make sure that the recording fails like you describe and please include all the files related to the recording). Upload it somewhere and PM me the URL and I will download and install it on one of our systems to see if the files themselves are the problem.

All the best

Hi Andrew,

here you can find a 2 minutes recording where I had the problem :

http://www.justupit.com/get.php?id=7563234611c914daca946f84ab40b08b

Here is also a second smaller recording that shows tearing at the top 10-15% while panning (camera moving sidewards) - maybe you can confirm that it has no issue on your system ?

Thanks for looking into this :)
