Does anyone know if linuxMCE can handle IR digital input or IR-IN?

Sorry if this has been answered before but there are so many "IR" and "INPUT" and "Digital" pages that turn up from the search that I thought I would just pose it.

Just got off the phone with Jerry at Global Cache technical support and in telling me what I need to purchase from them he needs to know if linuxmce accepts digital input of IR signals.

My thought is that it does, but I would greatly appreciate confirmation from the more experienced members of this forum.

Many thanks!

Not sure what you mean by digital IT input, do you mean receive signals from an infrared remote like your TV or amp remote?

If so, then the answer is yes - make sure you use the USB-UIRT, nothing else comes close if you do any reading at all on the forums or wiki you will find this is the recommendation. btw, IR control is less than ideal, if you have the option go with a more direct approach like RS232/serial or ethernet.
