Random video freeze when watching videos?

Sound continues fine, but video freezes for about 5 seconds every 10min or so.  When I first hooked this up there was no problem.  Any ideas?  The system is plenty fast enough, it doesn't matter what bitrate the video is, even tiny videos have this problem.

perhaps monitor the xine device log whilst playing. also confirm that the aren't a common codec

Are you running 32bit or 64bit?

If you have this problem on a md, change it to 32bit and rebuild.
I have the same problem on any MD running 64bit.

This is 32-bit.

These are on videos that were working fine last week, and now they have this problem.  I wonder if it has something to do with the sound driver, as I noticed if the machine is left on for several days the sound sometimes will skip constantly, and I have to reboot the core.  When I first built the system it didn't have this problem (that I am aware of).

I'll check those logs, any other ideas if that doesn't bear fruit?

If it wasn't happening before, my reaction would be to rebuild. Doesn't take long, less agonising.

I found the problem, the answer was very simple.  I wasn't watching the same videos, and I thought I was.  Those video files have issues, others work fine.
