Hello,

I have been trying for some time to set up a home brew transmitter, but I am not having much luck.  Here is what I have done so far.

Created Device "Home Brew Transmitter" with the following configuration.
1.  check Implements DCE
2. Command Line LIRC_DCE
3. Device Data:
    a. Device Data:  default
    b. COM port on PC:  /dev/ttyS0
    c. System Device: lirc_serial
4. check IR Transmit commands
5. check LIRC commands

I added this device as an Interface
controlled by Core

I have then added a cable box to be controlled by the Home Brew Transmitter.

It should also be know that I added a device for my cable box motorola DCT2200 and I added the LIRC Commands to the configuration for this new device.

but I am not able to get this to work.

I have installed a small script to test the configuration outside of Pluto and I get the following error.
/usr/bin/irsend: command failed: SEND_ONCE DCT2000 1
/usr/bin/irsend: hardware does not support sending
/usr/bin/irsend: command failed: SEND_ONCE DCT2000 1
/usr/bin/irsend: hardware does not support sending
/usr/bin/irsend: command failed: SEND_ONCE DCT2000 1
/usr/bin/irsend: hardware does not support sending

I am wondering if the transmitter part of LIRC is built into the drivers supplied by pluto.

I know that this transmitter works, because I have another computer in which I plug this transmitter into and it controlls this same cable box with as very similar setup.

Any one want to jump in and offer any suggestions.  I currently have this setup only on the core, but I am hoping to move this set up to addition MD, so that I can control Cable Boxes in each of the rooms.  I am only lacking the ability to and a transmitter.  I have two that I built when the box was as dedicated MythTV box, but I wanted to switch to Pluto in order to get a unified UI and Home Automation.

I am also putting my vote for inclusion of the MythTV plugins, which many of us already have experience with.
