This is something odd. Since about Aug 26th, I guess anything we schedule to record hasn't been recording the correct channel. I went to play back some tv shows from last week and they all go crazy at the beginning with channel numbers. It's like the original problem I had with it sending the channel numbers 4 times each, so

301

became

3333 0000 1111

That's what the playback looks like at the beginning of the recording.

We haven't had any problems watching TV through LMCE on the living-room machine, and I just went to the basement core and went to TV, called up the LMCE guide, selected a channel, and it changed fine.

Anybody experienced this? This is whacked if we can't schedule recordings.

I haven't had that problem.. As far as I know, whether tuning to a channel with a remote or orbiter, or mythtv changing the channel its self, they should both use the same IR_Repeats so I don't know why you would have such a problem (sounds pretty odd)

I've never checked this, but I'm uncertain on what role tunetochannel.sh (a standard MythTV script) plays in all of this. Maybe this is what is used to bring up the channel for recordings, giving you a difference in operation that you are experiencing. Its worth a look anyways

I agree - you need to get this working. I haven't turned back since using recording schedules - its a great feature to have.

I set it to record channel 521 at 11pm, then went and flipped the tv to Video1 input so I could watch it change channels. I'm not even sure if it sent 5555 2222 1111, it actually could have been more. I was trying to count the flashes on the IR transmitter and I'm sure I got more than 12.

I haven't tinkered with the system, I've been too busy. This just started happening on its own. Go figure.

I just checked, the uptime on the core is 37 days. Perhaps I should power down everything and reboot.

I powered down everything and rebooted, then scheduled MythTV to record Dotto Tech from 9am to 9:30am. Sat back and watched the tv and it nicely selected 209 as it should.

I'll schedule another for later just to be sure.

That's weird though. Glad I didn't miss anything important!
