Slimserver Firmware download
« on: December 23, 2005, 09:48:35 pm »
Hi.

Just added a Roku Soundbrige to Pluto. Seems to find it, so it must work.
Finds pluto as a library, but then ask for firmware download.
But what can I do to prevent that obligated firmware download for a slimserver device? I know there is a firmware place in the original slimserver dist where you just rename the version file and problem solved.
Any place I can do this (or disable) in Pluto?

Many thanks.

BTW: no problem after that firmware download screen on the Roku M1001.
One can go the DCERouter library and choose slimserver provided radio stations.

No music from the core yet to play.

Is there any chance to configure the slimserver as on the original server?
I am sure there must be some options to set for your slimdevice other than provided under the devices?

Hi Danny

Did you managed to get your soundbridge to work. I am looking into buying one of these myself.

Hi Henrik.

Its great working. After logging on into pluto:9000, you can do the same as with the original slimserver software. The version on pluto is not very up to date, but seems to work with a few crashes doing exotic stuff.
The only disadvantage is the difference between the original install. Any hint you get from the forums does not apply to the pluto install (config files etc.).
You have to find it yourself...

Anyway: get one of the Rokus, its great fun.
Honestly, its one of the first things with pluto for me that worked without trying hours...

Cheers
Danny
