I tried to adjust volume also using "alsamixer" but still i cant have sound.

BTW, my soundcard is connected to a Denon Amplifier via a Digital coax cable.

(SOLVED) Sound Card Not recognised or problem in installation
« Reply #2 on: June 19, 2008, 02:51:40 am »
I was finally able to solve my problem:

1. Open /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base with the following command:
    sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

2. Add this line at the end "options snd-hda-intel model=auto"

3. Back to the shell and type sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel

Reboot

Now I can hear sound using AV Wizard
