Intel Atom Based Core/MD
« on: June 02, 2008, 06:03:25 pm »
I have just purchased one of these:

http://www.tranquilpc-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Motherboards.html

It's going to be a dedicated core. I'll let you know how I get on with it. Only 4w power consumption for the CPU! I can see myself buying a few more of these to put around the house.

Please let us know how it works, it would be awesome if it has the strength to run effectively.

Agree let us know.  What are you using to get the video out or connecting the VGA straight through to the TV?  Have you found a LP video card for the PCI slot?  Rob

I'm going to use VGA out to my flat panel. It might be powerful enough to run as a dedicated core, probably not enough to be an MD as well, but we'll see!

On paper the current Atom boards look as if they should do the job. The GMA950 in our experience works fine with UI2 & Overlay.
