Newegg displays the following message for many TV Tuner cards recommended for LinuxMCE. Please aid the forum by describing how you will handle the switch?

---------
"This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the Nation's transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products. For more information, call the Federal Communications Commission at 1-888-225-5322 (TTY: 1-888-835-5322) or visit the Commission's digital television website at: www.dtv.gov"

I live in the UK and we are going through the same 'Digital Switch over here'... the upshot is that for LinuxMCE the only option really is to switch to new TV cards.

Here in the UK both the old analog PAL transmissions and the new DVB-T digital transmissions are running in parallel nationally already so about 7.8 million households already have switched. All LinuxMCE users who have chosen VDR as there PVR are already using DVB-T digital cards (vdr is essentially digital only) and MythTV users have the choice of both.
