Hi What do you use for Light/Dimmer & Keypad or Switch?
My problem is the Z-wave with dimmer or relay for 230V AC is only from ACT, But I need to put 150 switch+Dimmer for the entire house. What kind of option do I have?

hari

look at the Merten Connect line. They make very nice ZWave products. There are also Nuewi, Innovus and others.

best regards,
Hari

I couldn't find any online store selling Merten, I would need quite a bit of these switch and dimmer.

What do you think if I use any ELK M1 Gold Alarm + Automation panel with Insteadon keypad?

How hard for me to integrate the ELK to Linuxmce?

Kengtay,

If you are in North America, Insteon will work nicely for you.
you don't need the whole ELK M1 Gold...unless you want to integrate that too
Insteon Integration via a PLM is in public RC1 testing (yes, it works very well)

Make sure you get a PLM 2414S (that's the Power Line Modem) that is the device you connect up to linuxMCE.

Insteon has a wide range of dimmers, depending on what features you want.  Timed dimmers, KeypadLincs (which have up to 8 buttons for other devices), SwitchLincs, etc.

The only intuitive interface is the nipple.  After that it's all learned.
My other computer is your windows box.

No, I am actually in the country of 230V AC, I will be buying some of the Insteaon items and change to 240V AC (Replace few component). Hopefully it work well, Let you know once I have the result.

if only it were that simple..

the timing of insteon devices is very dependent on north american tolerances.

Kengtay,

PLC-BUS works well for 230V AC and is a better option than modifying Insteon.
