Autoupgrade option for LMCD -any plans for 710 ?
« on: April 24, 2008, 12:01:24 pm »
Hi,

I have pretty complex system that I use in new house. So I'm always in fear that I'll loose a lot of things when doing install with keep settings on new version... I liked Pluto Autoupgrade feature where it went more or less smoothly on each release....

Are there any plans about this feature and 710 release? I remember someone mentioned that 710 beta will already be able to autoupgrade to following releases - but it seems this is not the case....

Anyway, thanks for great efforts to everyone on this project...

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Bulek.

My rememberings about autoupgrade from Pluto days are not really happy (last updates scr*wed my setup 3 times in a row, and my setup was very basic...), nevertheless such a feature would be definitely neat.

Given this .. let me say that I'm currently running LMCE704, and since a couple of weeks now I get autoupdate screens popping out from time to time on orbiters

It sounds to me that some kind of autoupgrade is still active in 704, even if I don't dare to proceed as I don't know from where it is getting updates ...

Can anyone clarify this?

There is an update #5 which will install some packages on 704, so that you can later upgrade to 710 using the dual layer discs.
