Anyway, to get back on topic (which wasn't the shape of my nose :D), it seems like this horrendous problem has been "solved" in 0710:

linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ fdisk
Command 'fdisk' is available in '/sbin/fdisk'
The command could not be located because '/sbin' is not included in the PATH environment variable.
This is most likely caused by the lack of administrative priviledges associated with your user account.
-su: fdisk: command not found
