IIRC, there is no such password :) You should login as ordinary user and use "sudo" instead.

No the password to login to the console not the admin website. Dont seem to allow me to use the normal login or root with no password.

The root password is disabeled.  Use "sudo" from a normal user account to do things as root.

Hi

I have installed from the latest dvd image which installed the system for me. I have not setup and users or anything. I have tried loging in as the user I created in the web interface and that does not work.
I am hitting a wall here. I really need access to a terminal at moment

And you can't get to the KDE desktop either?

Hi

Thanks for the help. I found the kde desktop and the terminal program and my problems were solved.

This is a great system and the forum here is great and people are really quick to respond.

This IMHO beats the arse off of pluto

This is a "little" unsecure, but the password and username to login to linuxmce box is.
user: linuxmce
pass: linuxmce

To get "root"
just: sudo su

And you are now "root user"

Seems to be widely open to the lan, luckily it runs iptables for external connections.
