Hi,

I'd like to buz some starter kit to try x-10. Right now, they all seems to be USB based - so I wonder whether this will work under Pluto - common interface is serial.....

Also, is CM11 sufficient controller or is there any other advice on what device to use.

I'd like to try CK17 Smarthome Kit - USB . Is this good choice ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Rob.

I am in a similar situation.

Actually I can find also RS232 Starter Kit, but I'm running out of serial ports.

So it would be nice to use an USB Starter Kit (plenty of USB ports nowadays), or also a serial Starter Kit to plug into one of those USB to serial devices.

May some of you guys shed some light on this please?

TIA

Marco

Serial ports are a problem--however we use a lot of those USB->RS232 dongles to get more ports (available everywhere, pretty cheap).

Regarding USB support directly, check out the "wIsh" project.  We can always add a wIsh interface if it works.  If you get a system going with wish, let us know and we'll be sure to include it in future releases of Pluto.
