I installed LMCE last night and chose the option to install the propritry NVDIA drivers pc rebooted as normal but the desktop returned with its normal resolution, I didnt think much of this and proceeded to install LMCE which went without a hitch.

After setting up the system (UI2 with alpha Blending) the interface is really ugly checked in the web admin and the system is not using the propritry NVDIA drivers. How do I install the correct drivers and keep my desktop resolution (please keepp it simple I am a Linux newbie).

Thanks in advance for your help.

to see if you are using the proprietary nvidia drivers you have to do two things:
- check /etc/X11/xorg.conf in Section "Device" and if the driver is "nvidia" then you are using it.
- in a console, type lsmod and if you see nvidia then again, the driver is loaded.
