I have an old PC running Windows XP and I want to make it into a Linux-based home automation server using LinuxMCE. What are the minimum requirements to install LinuxMCE?

Here are the hardware specifications for my Windows XP:

•   CPU: Intel Pentium IV 2.8GHz
•   Memory: 1 GB
•   Hard Disk: Type IDE, Size: 250 GB
•   Display: standard SVGA adaptor and monitor
•   Peripherals: CD-Rom drive, USB ports, mouse, keyboard, sound card and network adapter

Is my PC compatible?

Thanks.

Try it :)

If all fails, just install something else. For an automation server the requirements are very low.
