I have been looking into a (preferably linux-based) media center solution to easily play my video and audio files on my HDTV, and think I'm almost ready to install Linux MCE.  However, I have a few questions first:

1) My girlfriend has young children.  Does LMCE have any way for me to regulate what they can watch from my video collection?

2) I would definitely prefer to remove the overscan from my Linux desktop instead of just shrinking the LMCE gui to fit the screen.  What resources are available that will help me configure Linux in this way?

tkmedia

1. Yes you can make the media public or private by saving it to different locations.

2. I am not sure if this what you are asking but I can set my resolution to 720p
