Wake on USB
« on: March 23, 2011, 12:03:14 am »

Hi,

I've just enabled suspend mode on one of my MDs and it works beautifully, though i needed to edit xorg.conf as advised in the wiki. Now, I'd like to be able to wake the MD with a button on the remote. The light on the USBUIRT flashes when I press buttons but the remote but the system doesn't respond. Pressing the power button on the system works as it should and brings the system back up.

I am running snapshot 23800.

Please note that this is not a feature of LinuxMCE, so the snapshot version does not matter. But it should be possible to set up manually if the hardware supports it:

First, you need to check if the USBUIRT supports waking up a computer. I think so, but you should do some research online. You might also need to configure what button it wakes up on.
Secondly, you need to check if your MD has wake-on-usb enabled. This is usually done in the BIOS.
