Pool and Spa Equipment
« on: January 17, 2011, 11:44:11 pm »
Is anyone working on any swimming pool intergration with Jandy, Hayward, 0RP/Co2, salt gens.....
I understand pluto has some ref to Jandy equipment.
This should be a good fit like the greenhouse, and we like pool intergration with security.
Maybe I could help some way in this area.
If your working on any "pool/spa anything" please contact me.
UPDATE
Jandy has Aqualink web based software and rs232 that is really nice to control chemistry and equipment remotely
Intermatic has Z-Wave based timers and switches 120v-240v.
If we could surround Aqualink monitoring software, the above manufactures equipment could bring "some" older solution pumps and equipment into the 21st century:)
Some of the swimming pool industries competing smaller companies are head hunting for developers, the automatic chlorine generators that use salt have rushed automation in our industry.

There really isn't much to do. Just get an interface, with a protocol sheet, that you know you can control, create a gsd device, and then you can create climate scenarios. ;)

What is it you want to control?

Hi,

I have a popup Tv in my spa that has its own MediaDirector.
The MD is a small form PC (Atom based) that is located inside the spa enclosure. It also has a 12V audio amplifier (like you have in cars) that drives the spa speakers. This is setup as an LMCE deviceand is turned on/off by a relay controlled through the LPT port on the MD.
It is setup that whenever there is media playing it turns the AMP on and when the media stops it turns it off.

This is probably not what you are referring to but like Thom said if there is a defined interface and protocol it should not be hard to integrate with it.

Regards
Darren

Out of interest darrenmason, do you have some kind of waterproof controller for this setup, or do you just use your phone?

Cheers,
Matt.

Less than 400. That's how I'd roll... if my life were awesome and I had a pool/spa.
I never quit... I just ping out.
