Is it possible to use my core as a NFS?

My main board can handle up to 9 Sata Drives. I have 6TB in a local RAID5 config now, but i wanna add some more drives, and use some of the extra bays as a SMB file share for my network to get the most out of my PC.

Is this possible?

Or does it make more sense for me to just pick up a NAS and dump everything on there.

Or does it make more sense to just turn my main Rig into a Giant NAS and use a different PC for my core?

I like to keep my media in a separate NAS

I think i'm going to just make my rig a Giant Network File Server/ NAS, then dedicate another box to be my rig. Its such a hard decision, but i have plenty of equipment laying around. just need to figure out the optimal use for everything
