users of ATI Mobility HD 3400 rev 0

Is someone out there who had a succesfull install with this card.
On my asus Eeepc 206 I simply cannot netboot, it crashes after kubuntu splashscreen.
In xorg2.log I see somewhat disturbing signs:

I know ati is not approved.
But could someone give me some pointers?
