burninglinuxmce iso images with brasero, help
« on: August 24, 2010, 08:20:50 pm »
hello everybody
i have downloaded the following images to be burnt to cd or dvd with brasero, they are downloaded from iptp,
LinuxMCE-8.10-22601-i386.iso
LinuxMCE-8.10-22640-i386.iso
LinuxMCE-CD1-i386.iso
LinuxMCE-CD2-i386.iso
LinuxMCE-DVD-i386-rc1.iso

i want to create a bootable disk for a fresh installation, i have made both a copy of the image itself and burnt it and i have also burnt these as contents, i however cannot create a bootable disk, when i set the computer to boot from cd, the disk will not boot, they aren't burning right or the image is not being burnt right, i have checked the md5sum of all and this in in intact, can anybody give me a step by step guide, i have spent days trying to do this and am getting hugely fustrated, i have created ubuntu disks from isos and never had a problem, please help  >:( >:( >:(

Just checking the obvious, as I have been there several times;

The 8.10 iso's are DVD's make sure you do not use a CD drive to install, I could be wrong but as I said I have been there several times before ;-)

william, you need to use an image burner, don't just burn the iso to a dvd. These are 2 very different things.

In Brasero use the "Burn Image" option and try again.
