Couldn't find anything about this, so here it goes.

How do you install additional programs onto MDs? Is it simply a case of using synaptic on the MD itself, or do you have to do something with the core first?

I thought that it would be really cool to have Frets on Fire on the living room MD.

You can install the software using the package manager, once you've done this...read the Wiki article on adding computing applications.

You will need the WM_CLASS and WM_NAME tuple, so that Orbiter will know what window to swallow.

Cheers for the reply.

I did read that wiki page; it didn't make much sense to me, but I see where it's coming from now.

So I install the software using the package manager on the MD itself? I don't need to do anything on the core?

I just updated the section Using the WM_CLASS string in the template in the wiki. So, have a look it. hope it'll help you to add a new application to the computing sceen :)

Thank you Michael, I hadn't had any success with this thus far, was just a little bit beyond me. Thanks again.
