Eyetoy as Security Camera?
« on: May 13, 2009, 08:49:39 pm »
Hey, I have a PS2 Eyetoy (Namtai version), and was wondering if I could use it as a security Camera for my soon-to-be Linux Media Center.
It is of reasonable quality, and is quit slim-line, making it very good as a security camera (will probably hide it, as it has a bright Blue LED in it). I have WinXP drivers for anyone if it will help, or does it work out the box?

Any help appreciated, as I want to make a perfect set up that will, well, be perfect.

Saying the Eyetoy has reasonable quality is quite interesting. I found that camera to be abysmal in picture quality.

Whether or not it works: Plug it in, and I would follow the Logitech Quickcam article, and play with it. But I would not keep my hopes to high.
