Controlling Somfy Blinds with a Universal RTS Interface II

The Somfy RTS Blind Motors can be controlled via an RS232/485 port on a single RF transmitter.
The manual for their RS232 devices suggests:

  Use the ASCII protocol: <!> <2 digit unit code> <Directional Command> NOTE: directional command must be capital letters.
  example; to send a command for motor 3 to go up: !03U

Can anyone outline the procedure, I don't mind reading through the wiki, but I am not sure what to read? A ref to the section would be appreciated!

Take a look at another rs232 device template like yamaha RxvX00

It should give you an idea of what needs to be done.
