RS232 interface on an onkyo sr706...

...does anyone know what this does, or is capable of doing? Even better does anyone know how?

I've been looking at the manual, and tried searching for information, but not found anything.  Any help with this receiver, or more specifically controlling it, would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a list of functions that receiver can use and the rs232 commands to do so.
chk the yamaha rxvx000 template for an example.

I would also take a look here:

It has a lot of code already written so you don't have to reinvent the wheel.  These worked with my SR-806.

Your welcome Onkyo seem to make it as difficult as possible to find info regarding their RS232 protocol even though they advertise it as a benefit
